The Monmouth Civic Chorus will sing Giacomo Puccini’s gorgeous opera Turandot in concert in two performances with the Westfield Symphony Orchestra and the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company.

A free performance will be presented on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at the PNC Bank Arts Center, Exit 116 Garden State Parkway, Holmdel. Tickets are free by mail in advance with a self-addressed, stamped envelope (#10) to Garden State Arts Foundation, Attention: Westfield Symphony Orchestra, P.O. Box 5013, Woodbridge, NJ 07095-5013.

An additional performance will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 8:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, 140 Mountain Avenue, Westfield. Tickets from $25 to $65 are available at (908) 232-9400 or

Turandot tells the story of a brave prince who risks his life to win the heart of a cruel princess. Set in ancient China, the opera overflows with music of shimmering beauty and passions of love and death. The soaring aria Nessun dorma has been made famous around the world by tenors from Luciano Pavarotti to Andrea Bocelli.
