MONMOUTH CIVIC CHORUS SINGS AT TOWER HILL

The Monmouth Civic Chorus opens its 2005-2006 season under the baton of Dr. Mark Shapiro with radiant classics in the European sacred choral tradition. Experienced and new listeners alike will appreciate engaging, enlightening commentary by Dr. Shapiro on music by Brahms, Bruckner, Monteverdi, Palestrina and Rachmaninoff. Titled Continental Spirit, the concert is on Saturday, November 19, 2005, 8:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 255 Harding Road (Tower Hill), Red Bank, New Jersey. Tickets are $25 general admission, $22 seniors, $20 groups of 10 or more, $5 students. Renaissance Society members and Jersey Arts Ticket cardholders receive group rates. The Chorus has been acclaimed as “close to perfect” (Asbury Park Press), “sonorously impressive” (The Star-Ledger) and “a vital musical presence on the New Jersey classical music scene” (Classical New Jersey). The Chorus has sung at the cathedrals of Vienna, Florence, and the Vatican, and by invitation at Carnegie Hall and with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
