The Monmouth Civic Chorus under the baton of Dr. Mark Shapiro will sing radiant classics in the European sacred choral tradition on Saturday, November 19, 2005, 8:00 p.m. Experienced and new listeners alike will appreciate engaging, enlightening commentary by Dr. Shapiro on music by Bach, Brahms, Bruckner, Monteverdi, Palestrina, Rachmaninoff and more. Soloists are sopranos Gina Barnett, Freehold and Deborah Macock, Fair Haven; mezzo-soprano Carlotta Filarowitz, Old Bridge; tenor Douglas Clark, Tinton Falls; and bass Gerald Metz, Freehold. The Chorus has been acclaimed as “close to perfect” (Asbury Park Press), “sonorously impressive” (The Star-Ledger) and “a vital musical presence on the New Jersey classical music scene” (Classical New Jersey).

Titled Continental Spirit, the concert is at the First Presbyterian Church, 255 Harding Road (Tower Hill), Red Bank, New Jersey.
