Ring Out, Wild Bells! These words embody a new season of Monmouth Civic Chorus, capturing the celebratory mood of a new era for one of Monmouth County’s longest-lived arts organizations. Ringing bells mark significant milestones in collective life; heard at weddings, civic events, religious occasions, and holidays, bells call communities together, affirm joy, bring good luck, and symbolize the passage of time. Across three concerts, the themes of celebration, connection, and change are sung in works old and new, as we welcome a new Artistic Director.

Sing Hallelujah! continues Monmouth Civic Chorus’s beloved annual tradition, presenting singalong carols alongside classics from Handel’s Messiah. Three takes on ‘Hallelujah’ – from Handel, Beethoven, and Margaret Bonds – anchor this program which traces the contours of the Christmas story and its joyful message of peace. The chorus is joined by top-tier soloists and an elite professional orchestra to ring in the holiday season with cheerful singing!
Homeward Bound

Homeward Bound is a journey through song, traversing musical eras and styles while singing about growth and homecoming. The concert is accompanied at the piano and grounded by Adolphus Hailstork’s landmark cantata I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes with guest tenor soloist Taiwan Norris. Additional works by Brahms, Dvorak, Barber, Putts, Dett, Mulholland, and arrangements of African American spirituals by André Thomas and Stacey Gibbs.
French Connection
Exploring the transatlantic bond between American composers and French sounds.

Ahead of MCC’s Summer 2027 tour to Normandy and Paris, French Connection offers an exploration of the transatlantic bond between American composers and the French sound. Iconic works of French composers Duruflé, Debussy, Bonis, Villette, and Fauré are paired with American works inspired by French teachers and landmarks. Featuring one of the most popular Baroque grand motets for the Palace of Versailles, Michel-Richard De Lalande’s Cantate Domino, with Philadelphia’s period-instrument ensemble Filament.
