What’s Changed
For years, MCC has been using a home-grown software system to accept your donations, to purchase subscriptions, individual concert tickets, and MCC merchandise like CDs. Now, we have installed a professional software system to accomplish those tasks (FYI, the system is called a CRM, for Customer Relationship Management).
This new system, called Audience View Pro (AVP), is used by performing arts organizations around the world to improve communications between the arts groups and their patrons.
Starting with a safe and secure environment in which you do business with MCC, our AVP system will allow you to ‘talk’ with us in an efficient, intuitive way, and for our MCC volunteers to make sure your wishes are filled.
How and Why to Set Up an Account
When you want to make a gift to one of MCC’s fund-raising campaigns or purchase tickets for a concert, we want the experience to be pleasant and efficient for you. We also want to be sure your gifts are directed as you wish and that your concert seats are where you want to be.
Setting up an account with us will accomplish those needs for you, and allow MCC’s volunteers to deliver the goods—whether it’s a donation acknowledgement or, for example, reserving a specific seat at the Count Basie for our annual holiday concert—quickly and with a minimum of fuss.
This help document will show you how to set up an account following just a few steps.
Once you do set up an account, you’ll be able to track your donations yourself (don’t worry, we’ll see the same information and will still send you thank-you notes for your files) and once we’re performing live again, to print or reprint your concert tickets yourself
Don’t want to go through setting up an account? That’s fine—you can still donate without doing so! However, you’ll still have to answer most of the same questions and provide much of the same information to us to make a one-time-only transaction, so we encourage you to set up an account on our system.
Why Our New System Is Better for Philanthropic Donations to MCC
Here’s a real-life example of how our new donation system is an improvement over the old.
Last year, a former MCC member unfortunately passed away, and a number of her friends from around the country wanted to make donations to MCC in her honor.
However, the software we used then didn’t allow donors to provide donation directions efficiently and precisely. Instead, those would-be donors needed to send emails and leave voice mail messages for us since they couldn’t tell us what they wanted on our own software platform.
We happily returned those messages and eventually were able to meet those donors’ needs, but how many other friends of our former MCC member simply gave up when they tried to make a gift in her memory on our old system?
